 I am new to this and dont know what overlander is but last year I bought the first vehicle I've had in 11 years. A 2005 fleet 4cyl ranger and immediately drove it as south as my work schedule would allow and back about 3000 in 5 days. Slept in the tiny fleet cab and had my bike in the back. I'm an eagle scout and love camping and am just so happy to have the ranger. I gave my 83 y.o. dad that truck when the tranny went at 220000 so he could get to the va and back and he loves it still, even while it barely works.

 Welcome, your tent... what brand/model and do you like it ?
How easy is it to use ?
I was looking at one from 12 Degrees North, thinking about making a Rack for the bed area, mounting it so it opens to the rear of the bed, not the side.
I am in middle of getting another project t together so the tent will have to wait for a while.

 My tent is made by me. It's ok for a start. Really light, comes in at 47 lbs. All market tents are over 100 usually around 150. It always has a air mattress and sleeping bag for 2 in it. I just bring pillows when we camp. I love it. So much so, I'm currently making my own mechanical hard shell rooftop tent. It will open with a key fob. Has lots of stuff involved with it. Almost done with it though. I'll share it pretty soon. But all in all its awesome to have one. Super easy to setup. Remove cover and open it like a book and its setup. It never gets dirty from the ground. Just  blow it out when I get home and its always there if I need it. I always have a chair, small table, and emergency food in the bed storage. I've had to use it unexpectedly and it was a life saver. I suggest making your own if your handy at all. Check out the DIY rooftop community on Facebook. Tons of ides and general q and a's about the matter. Hope that helps. Oh, and the cost. I'll say this, because I've made most my stuff. All in, gear included. I've spent less then the cheapest rooftop tent you can buy. Definitely reccomend looking into the DIY solutions. You might be surprised.

I think it a great place to start, it looks good, at least as good as the one I was looking at and the price was over $1100 and weighs in at 93 pounds.
And that's not the support structure, don't know that yet !

The KeyFob thing, does that mean it is all electric opening ?

If so, I have to see this, is there a video ?

I'm glad I've seen your, now I know that is the way to go... but maybe not full electric.

 You can go either way. Use a gas strut like on a camper shell back glass. No assist manual or an electric version. No videos for mine as of yet. Currently reviewing patient stuff. Stupid expensive and not sure if its even worth doing. But, I cant release that stuff until I decide either way. I'm sure it will be copied. Only have to change 1 perimeter and its void. But yes, mine has solar, with it's own integrated battery bank. And some other stuff as well. I like to be a bit different.

 When I swap over to my new tent. I'll probably sell mine dirt cheap. It needs new ripstop fabric, but its solid aluminum base, separated by styrofoam to reduce temperature loss through the floor. Aluminum poles and brackets. Which is why it's so light. Its a start or I'll send you better pics and details to make your own. It was pretty simple. And once you have one. You will never ground camp again. Trust me.
