I was backing into a tight spot where I only had the outside mirrors for reference. I had re-adjusted both for a better view of the ground at the rear bumper. When I pulled out I was re-adjusting them for driving the passenger side would not motor out. I had to manually push it out.

I know nothing about the power mirrors. Can I get some guidance on where to start on fixing this problem?

First pull the door panel off & with a test light while moving the mirror switch to each position make sure you have power coming out of the switch on all 4 settings. If ok try it again at the mirror plug, if still ok your mirror motor is probably bad in that one position, & probably need to replace the mirror or get one from a JY & pull the motor out of it.. That is how I would test it.

I have power at the mirror plug. It will remain a manual out for a while.

If you have power at the mirror plug with power in all 4 settings it sounds to me like the mirror motor has a dead spot.

Tsquare,

How is the Mirror project coming along ?

Would be interesting to hear what you did to determine the cause of the problem.

Working on more Mods, just need more time, longer days would work !

I have too many irons in the fire right now. This is just an annoyance that will probably not get fixed.

Like the heater resistor on my 01. It sucks only having 2 fan speeds, I've replaced so many now I have lost count, has to be 5 or 6 now. I have 2 with pigtails in stock, yet I drive to work daily with 2 fan speeds only... very slow and very fast.

Yes to both of there annoyances... !

The heater Switch... man that has to be one of the BIGGEST problems with the Ranger, second to only the Window leaning thing.
Having two speed isn't good but better than nothing, too bad there isn't a replacement switch/resistor pac package; bolt-in or slight mod'd acceptable.
Just adding Power Mirrors can be a PITA but when they screw up... what can you say !
