Year? Standard or automatic. Might try LMC truck

1983 Ranger, reluctantly taking apart. Donor/project vehicle.

1997 Ranger Ex Cab Manual 4.0 2wd, dead on arrival. Hopefully reviving for a daily driver.

1984 Ranger, currently in ≈861 pieces. She’s donating what’s salvageable.

Do a search on "Starter and Alternator Rebuild Shop". There are still some of those around that can rebuild your original starter  to better than stock specs.

I had the original alternator for my 74 Stingray rebuilt by Starter and Alternator Rebuild Shop in Atlanta about 6 years ago.  They were cheaper than a replacement from NAPA and I was able to keep it original.
