I'm thinking about running two batteries when I do my swap. I've seen it done to other trucks, but was wondering what the advantages are. I do plan on having stereo upgrades and probably  an electronic fan, eventually.
Has anybody done this to their ranger?  If so, some pics and how to info would be appreciated.

Dual batteries are more for offline power. Cold cranking, or running lights with the rig iff. If you're running a lot electronics a higher output alt is your need

Or you could do both.

A higher output alternator never hurt anyone and is always a good idea. Better to have and not need then to need and not have.

I run duel batteries in the El Camino. One to start and one to run abnormal accessories. The advantage is, you can always jump your self if need too.

Higher power Alt gives you what you need, More batteries gives you longer Off/Key time..

I have a dual battery system I'm working on which will have a full boat setup. By that a main battery - 2 aux deep cycles with 190-200ah each, a solar input feed, and option to shore power when available.

The truck/(eventual) winch will run on the Main Starting battery. The Aux lighting, all charging means for Fridge/Cameras/COMMS/USB Flashlights/Laptops/DC-AC convertor/misc functions of Flip-Pac.

For Audio purposes, honestly spend a few bucks and buy a GOOD better battery, you could do the 130a Explorer alternator most likely which is better than the 95a Ranger unit unless you plan on running some ridiculous power concerns. and for just hanging out pick up a inexpensive bluetooth speaker and consider simplifying having to always charge and discharging your car battery, even a better battery will take its toll of low voltage runs before you start damaging battery cells.
