They are too close to each other
You will pay big money for a small change
I would go 4.56 for 33's
go 4.88 for 35's
Everyone who goes 33" almost always eventually goes to a 315 (34") or a true 35", keep that in mind when you re gear
ONly reason to go 4.10 would be if you found bolt in front and rear factory axles with the 4.10 for cheap
If you are going to pay for a re gear the 3.73 to 4.10 is not worth the $$$ spent
I paid big $$$ long ago to re gear from 3.73 to 4.10 and install ARB lockers
Not worth it, barely noticed a difference when I picked up the truck
I should have done 4.56, back then they did not make 4.88 for our front diffs (reverse rotation dana 35)
I still have 4.10 and I run 35's, I make up for it by having a V8
In my wifes Fj, also on 35's, we went 4.56
Her truck scoots compared to mine, she has better torque all over the powerband
The only thing I do have is a nice highway gear, 65mph is like 2250 rpm = good MPG
But I would MUCH rather have 4.56 with my automatic and V8
If I was to go to a 5 speed manual (I am considering a M5od-R2 conversion) I would re gear to 4.88. With a 5 speed I would have more control over what gear I am in so you can get away with a steeper ratio in the diffs.....Last edited on Thu Nov 15th, 2018 08:04 pm by 410customs
