Found a matching piece of honeycomb mesh to match the mesh in the outer grill area of my stock 2009 XL grill.  Almost a 100% match.

Got it on Amazon ...not cheap tho.  $43.50 for a piece 41" x 13 1/2 ".  But it almost exactly matches the outer grill mesh.  And it saved me from running
all over trying to find something similar.
Seller was "Original Euro", free shipping...had it in 3 days.
But, if you go to Amazon and just punch up "plastic mesh" it will bring up all kinds/designs.  Punch up metal mesh and same will pop up.
Mesh I got is a plastic material, same material as the Ranger grill.

Not the prettiest picture of my truck. Those are bugs from a long road trip. I've always felt like a piece was missing and I've searched and searched. A link would be appreciated. Yours looks nice!!!

Additionally, these are what I used to mount the mesh.  Once I cut it to size, I epoxied two of these to the rear of the Ford Emblem Mounting plate in the center of the grill.  Let em dry and then pushed the mesh down...the studs on the chair slides are long enough to put a washer and duuble nut the mesh down.  Very easy and very solid.  Mesh dosen't move at all.

Thank you for the links, I have like a thousand ideas now.

Lately my favorite "fastener" is a product called "shoe goo" it is incredibly tough and dries soft. It is like silicone on steroids. Water proof, clear, flexible.

Your welcome.  I generally have "stuff" on hand so I don't buy much for small projects.  I just look at what I want to do, figure what I need to do it, and start rummaging thru my "hardware stuff".
8 times out of 10 I have what I need.  Had those chair slides sittin in the hardware stuff and the "lightbulb" clicked on.
If needed, I can pull the grill off and take a pic of how it worked out.  I'm not one for taking pic's for a "how to" while I'm working on something.
    Glad to help.

I'd really like to do something like this for mine, I do own one 2WD grill. With the mesh it would look better than either of my 4WD grills. I might buy some form of that mesh to play with when I get to that part of the project.
