I have the 60/40 seats in my truck and am looking to change to bucket/captains.  Mainly for my 115# puppy who rides w/me everywhere to have more comfortable options.

I'm just curious of what seats are interchangeable w/my set up.

Photo is my lil puppy Blue in the F150 I swapped for the Ranger I have now. ;)

Well! Don't we look content! LOL

There are several seats that will fit/can be modified to fit your truck.  The easiest, and most common are the '95 to '01 Explorer seats. I stole this from another forum:

"Here's what will fit in the ranger's

98-01 Explorer 2 & 4 door leathers will fit
02+ Explorer Sport
02+ Sport Trac

02+ 4 doors are too wide and they have a different style rails.

I have 02+ Explorer Sport leather seats in my 04 extended cab."

Thanks Michael that's exactly what I was looking for, a list for cross-referencing. :frd

I've found in searching for Ranger-specific seats the prices tend to run higher than they do for Explorer.

Now I get to hunt....glad I'm patient. ;)

Well, the fact you have the extended cab makes it easier. The single cab trucks have a different floor pan that requires you to modify, fabricate or swap seat tracks. I am running 2001 Mountaineer leather 6-way power with lumbar in my 2003 EDGE. My original seats were perfect, but I just couldn't say no to leather and power (I'm a toy whore). My original seats are now happily mounted in my son's 1999 extended cab XLT, so it's not like they went to waste.

How big of a pain was it to run the electrics?

The power to the seats was easy. I had a long length of heavy duty mains cable that I ran from the distribution box under the hood to the driver seat, then from there across to the passenger side to power both seats. The distribution box has some blank spots in it, so I got connectors at the JY to add the circuit. I think I used a 30 amp fuse, but I'm not sure now (I checked the Mountaineer manual to find the proper fuse size).

Seat belt minder was plug & play, but I have yet to get the air bag harness connected (so my light stays on in the cluster). I most likely will have to ask for some help on the forum to get that resolved.

I put bucket seat & the shorty console in my last 00 Ranger Extd Cab out of a late 90's Explorer Sport & they were a direct bolt in.

Looks like I'll be going junkyard shopping soon.
Already checking out local CL ads for folks parting out.
