I'm preparing for the Explorer V8 swap on my 07 sport 4x4 4door. I'm saving up and figuring out what I want. While I drive at low speeds it's kind of a pain turning the wheel so much and was wondering if there are other choices for steering boxes that turn quicker but keep a firm feel?

I believe 410customs had made the suggestion of https://www.redheadsteeringgears.com/ they may have more information for you as well as himself. I just now remembered his suggestion as I seen your post and pulled the site up to check out. Not sure if its just a quality reman or if they do anything custom..

Guess we'll both find out soon.

Redhead steering gear boxes are great because they fix the defective ford box
However a 2007 Sport uses rack and pinion not a steering gear box
I am not sure if there are any aftermarket rack and pinions that would quicken up your steering

Are you planning to solid axle your 2007?
What V8 are you looking to install?

You and I havent gone over specifics of which engine to use yet. You are doing my swap late spring early summer, I'm hoping. I'm just trying to figure out all the little things I want so you can gather up what I need or at least get a list going. My house remodel is nearing its conclusion.  I will be painting the exterior on labor day weekend. After that I'll be saving up all my fun tickets for the truck.
