Boy the concept of LED's was awesome but in reality the only LED's that have never failed me are the sylvania expensivo's and the large scale LED's that Buggman puts on his 3rd brake lights. I can't get 6 months out of any other LED regardless of brand and are leaning toward going back 90% to filament bulbs which dim substantially over time but can last 25 years.

Anyone else arriving at that conclusion? I'm thinking it is the vibration of driving. LED's seem to last forever in stationary products like home receivers or mounted on the wall but in a car or truck? Losing faith real quickly I don't like having to pull my cluster every 6 months to replace the LED's.

They seem to last with a rigid enclosure. The LED strip lighting I have on my motorcycle is exposed to high heat, cold, oils, and fuel. I have re-placed every strip at least once but they last for 4 to 6 years. The guy that lives across the street replaces his LEDs every year on his motorcycle. I have a German brand and that may be the difference.

Between the two bikes and the truck I have never had any problems with LED's.  I have some from Buggman, some from The Retro Fit Source in the truck, some that I can't even remember who made them on my Yamaha that have been going for 10+ years.  I think the ones on my Honda are from ShowChrome.  No issues.

Have you done both a positive and negative voltage systems check on that vehicle Jim?

The only place I don't have 100% negative I found was the intake/fuel rail. I put a pressure sensor on the schrader valve and it got wonky real quick so I checked negative against the fuel rail and it was insulated big time. I had to run a separate ground wire to the sensor.

I checked ground in the beginning when I was diagnosing the stalling problem. But it is 2 of my trucks I have had LED's go bad in.

I was buying those cheapies from e-bay was the problem. I have a set of the zevo's in the tail lights and they are still going strong. At 11 bucks a piece they better.

I have a pair in fog lights but not in headlights. So far the fog lights have been OK but I fear the cooling fan will not last long.

Bad luck here with swap from Bulbs to LEDs for InstrumentCluster & DashCenterPanel,
so back to Bulbs that first lasted ~15years.

Don't use HiWattBulbs, or you'll melt plastic.
