I'm in the process of going through my rear suspension...full restoration. Do polyurethane bushings provide any advantages over OEM other than ease of install and removal? I'm really particular of the parts that go on my truck...nearly every single part is original, OEM Ford, or Motorcraft. But if the polyurethane provides a physical advantage I'd consider using them. Does anyone have any experiences or inputs? Thanks.

I worked at a HD motorcycle speed shop as a second job for a few years just after the turn of the century. We had a sign in the shop that read read "Stock always works".

I like poly in places like body mounts, sway bar bushings, shock bushings, and leaf spring bushings...
I prefer stock/softer compound in places like Radius arm bushings (more flex, softer) and that's about it.
So yeah Polly is usually better....I went back to rubber on radius arms simply because more flex and less noise

Scrambler, I went with poly bushings...pic provided below. Unrelated, it was a brutal winter in the upper Midwest this year...just now getting my truck out and finishing up the work I started late last year. Thanks for checking up on me.

I'm not a big fan of Poly Bushings for DD's, tends to vibrate a little more than rubber but for off roading can't beat them for solid ride.

Get a spray can of Silicone Spray, You may need it as the Lube wear out !

The first pic show the trouble it is to get the bushings out but you got it done.

Should work out fine, have a good one !
