I'm replacing my ignition control module on our 93 Ranger 2.3 5-Speed. It's got codes 223, 224, and 327. I swapped the coils with some new ones I had on the shelf. The old ones were the original 1993 coils still in the truck. One of them actually had a crack down the middle of the case. Still have the codes after swapping. The ICM has also been on there since 1993. I watched a few videos and heard some of the bolts break especially in the areas prone to rust. I'm in Georgia. Father is using this as the daily drive until he gets a new car so I can't have it down for days or really even a day. So is it almost 100% possibility that one or more of the bolts will break removing the ICM. I noticed when getting some parts in the salvage yard today that all the 2.3's had the ICM taken. I guess because the price. I couldn't tell if any bolts were broken because they were earlier years and had more stuff in the way. I think if they were to break on mine you would have to move the pump bracket or either remove the manifold to get at it to fix. Any suggestions?
