I would be on the road in 10 seconds if I were actively employed. This thing is perfect, exactly what I was looking for as a base for a gen 1 build. Price is fair, under 4500. In TN almost straight south from where I am at.

Almost too good to drop an engine in.

Holy cow...it's like it just rolled off the show room floor! Which reminds me, if anyone sees a 1st gen single cab Ranger (long or short bed) for cheap, like less than 1000 cheap (running or not) that the body isn't rusted to crap everywhere (a little rust is okay, there's a bunch of yard here that have old rangers but they won't sell them whole so body parts are replaceable) then let me know. I might be interested. But something like that is just beautiful, how many miles on it, do you know? 5? Lol

Almost, I need extended cab on the next truck. The stepside on mine looks good but I would rather have bed space like this one.

A wing window is that little triangle of glass that doesn't roll down when you roll the windows down. You push it out and it'll blast wind in your face when you're driving

It also used to be called a smoker's window. It could be set to draw from the inside.

Yes, air circulates at the rate you want by varying the opening.

I the windshield fogs some, open the Wing/Vent and it clears up.
My '88 STX had them, miss them, AND my 1st Gen had no side window problems.

When it get a little warm, you open the Vent Windows, cools off with the circulation.

Funny how things that actually work well... disappear.

Where are the vent Windows on that 1st Gen ?

I'm 23 years old (maybe one of the youngest forum members?) and even I knew what a wing window was!

My dad had one on a 67 LTD. I thought they were ugly and horribly loud on the freeway. Like the kind of noise you encounter at a Ratt concert.

Never knew what they were called.

I've always called them "Vent Windows", because that is what they do.

Using them on the Hy-Way... I used to just open them a little and the open the Back Cab Window... air in from the back out the vent windows.

Didn't think much about the look, they were always there sort of thing, they worked !

My mom and dad both were multiple pack a day smokers so the tiny window was usually open.

I was just looking back on this thread and notice what I hadn't noticed before, no Vent Windows... WTF, '88 had Vent Windows, didn't they ?

This truck was similar to my first Ranger, an '88, STX, High Boy, 4x, 5sp, loved that truck, went 5.0L shortly after getting her !

Too bad it wasn't closer to me.

I was chatting with him and he sold it. I want to buy an out of state truck but modern cameras always enhance photos and things look better in the pic than real life. I would hate to get a $300 plane ticket just to find a beat up piece of junk and have to fly home instead of drive.

86-90 Ranger you could get wing windows or not.... my 88 BII has them
If you have a 83-92 Ranger you can add wing windows if they are not there, its a simple piece of trim and triangle window that bolts into the non wing window door.
When I converted my BII from power locks and windows to manual locks and windows I swapped doors with Ranger doors. The doors I used had no wing windows or tinted glass. So I swapped my parts over....bolted right up.
My 1988 Bronco II and my 1997 F350 both have wing windows. I love them, do not like to live without them
I do not smoke
They defrost and they control air flow, if you do not have air conditioning a wing window will do, even in Moab when its 104 outside and you are crawling in low range 4x4 in the sand and sun all day, a wing window and a spray bottle of water will cool you off even at 2 miles per hour.

No wing windows seemed to be the trend in '87 for the most part.  But it is easier to find rubber molding and window track kits for the winged version.  Were they more popular in the Bronco IIs?

First Gens are awesome!

I'm not sure? Looking through my pictures old rangers either had them or did not, does not seem to matter if they are Rwd or 4x4, regular cab or extended, simply some have them and some do not.

I use a PC to access the websites, one with a big ol curved monitor.... I only use my phone to talk to people and text :)

I don't have any curved monitors left. When the flat ones came down to less than 20 bucks on CL I got a half dozen of those.

I migrated to a lap top. I do "surf" on the phone only if I have to.
