Speaking of Negativity.. I thought maybe because I recently cleared my cache it might remove any settings on some sites or reset them..

is it me or is the Recent Topics feature not functioning? Doesnt look like anyone's posting at all, not even you lifers from way back when.

Is it me, or is it you?

Just me and Jim chatting, but that is in the admin only forum.

I guess people have just drifted away - they still browse but don't post these days.

Maybe we should change the recent topics list to latest topics and limit it to say 20 topics - that way there will always be content even if it is ancient!

I check in from time to time. I no longer visit every day since I no longer have the Ranger.

I would leave it where its at to be honest.. and focus on marketing the site.

The BIGGEST problem this site has is its moderation.  You have mods that dont mod.  A single post has 20+ topics in it because everyone just randomly, albeit non intentionally is hijacking threads instead of starting NEW ones for new topics.

This is why the dumbest of topics has 114 pages of 60k views and 10k replies and yet the POST counts overall for the site dont really increase. Sorry, Ive always respected everyone, never could say a bad thing about anyone, but people got tasks and jobs of being on the site and no one does what a mod is supposed to do because for the longest time, the same 35-40 people came and gone making it seem like the 80's Sitcom Cheers on here. So everyone became complacent and treated the site like a campfire ring conversation.

So the sites curating was a minimum and most of the time Either Jammon or our distant UK ring leader usually curated things or dealt with issues. And now respectfully, Mike here just admits to not having a Ranger any longer so Modding is again, respectfully not at the forefront of his attendance or priorities I'm sure although glad he responded to posts.

I'm not telling anyone how to run the site or what to do but, as someone who's literally still on over a 110 forums, Ive @dmin'd 4 in my day (although late 90's early 2000's), and Ive owned 2 in my days too.. A busy Honda site and a not too bad Scion site. And although forums have changed a little over the last 2 decades some on the back end, they're like boobs, once you seen one pair, you seen em all. I'd say I have a pretty good understanding despite my limits stop at Design theory & HTML (4/5) and not actual coding.

But I do think re-establishing the roots of the site, maybe a little restructuring, and an aspect of taking a serious step towards marketing the site and bringing people back. I have an idea I can see if I can get 12* North to bite and use it as a back link for additional views. They dont formally advertise and get put in front of over 300k people monthly so even a slow trickle of new members is better than none or losing members as the selling off of vehicles also dwindles the extension of friendships.

Maybe I'm just more of a life'r than I admit to be but.. Some changes could renew structure and use. Other forums are still strong and there's only here and TRS really anymore for Ranger sites--not including Ranger 5G or Ranger 6g now.

Those here from the OTHER Ranger site, that sites gone. Ranger-Forums is gone.. Should be an easier market to tackle
