Today we have introduced a new PM system - all your old mails are still there but the display is completely different. The messages are arranged in "conversations" that you have with other members.

It is more like texting on a phone or using Whatsapp / Messenger and will be familiar to most people.

On the left of the page is a "mini menu" and a list of people you have sent messages to or received messages from. Click on any name in the left column and the conversation will appear in the right column with a text editor at the end  - scroll up & down to read the conversation.

Buttons in the mini menu (which is always visible) will take you to the forum home page, recent topics and back to the top of the PMs page.    To start a conversation with a new person click on "Write a new message" and you get the usual PM editor window.

When you reply the message will appear instantly at the end of the conversation. There is NO editing function for posted messages - just copy the message into the editor, edit, post and delete the old message.

Individual messages can be deleted using the delete button top right of each message.

Whole conversations can be deleted using the red Delete conversation button - beware this can not be undone.

Deletions ONLY affect your display - the other person will still have the messages unless they have also deleted them.

Have fun and let me know how you get on with it - any problems / bugs / suggestions post here

Just to clarify one thing - the old system inserted the message you are replying to into the reply - obviously this is not needed in the new system but because some people added their reply to the bottom of the page rather than the top, the new system stripped everything after the -----Original message -----  so some messages appeared to be blank.

I have removed the filter so you will now see the same message as you would under the old system - it looks a bit messy at the moment but this will pass as new messages are sent in the new system.

I will see if I can modify the filter to preserve the "right" bit of the upside down messages :)

I just got to use the new PM System, "Looks Good" !

Nothing went wrong for me, the original message appeared above in its own block, and my reply went below, I had to go back to the PM to send another reply and all went easily into another block.

Nice job, I for one like it !
