Target hp, 300. As for torque couldn't tell yea lolThe 5r55e that has the beefed up input shaft should work nicely for 300 hp engine. With 300 hp you could put in a 331 gear and provided you can plant most of the HP to the road it could be quicker than a 373 or a 410.
I had a fox body Mustang LX that put out about 350 hp at the rear wheels that was quicker in the quarter mile with a 331 than the 373 that came in the car. It wasn't intentional. I sheared my pinion and the only LS axle I could find in the junk yard that would fit was a 331. The plus side to it I jumped from 16 mpg to 19.
