Hub length and diameter are the differences. Many 2WD wheels may need to have the hub hole drilled out and retouched up in order to fit the 4WD hubs eliminating the need for spacers unless you're trying to achieve a specific look or parameter variable.
Also:

Lug centric bolt patterns are the same
Offsets are the same
Brake caliper clearances are the same

Most of your local machine shops can/will handle that and if not for a small fee and OR you can contact Weldcraft below:
