OK, so here is the Monday update. The letter are correct, the paper coating on the letters is protective coating, who would've Thunk ! Duh ! Also, what I assumed to be "clear, RED painted acrylic lettering", is really "RED acrylic lettering". Not that that is a bad thing, but I was hoping to add some LEDs imbedded in the clear acrylic, allowing for a rear lighting effect, more of a glow. So I am at the solid red plastic letters point, drilled the mounting holes, tapped with standard tap and then with a bottom tap. Epoxied some S/S Set Screws, approximately 1.25" long in the holes. Waiting for the Epoxy to fully cure and then I need to get a strip of aluminum for a backer plate. The new Grille has four supports running from top to bottom and I am using the center two for alignment and spacing. The letter spacing will be 1.5" in-between the letters, ending with approximately an 18" overall width Grille Emblem and RED all the way through lettering, so no lighting, right now ! I am headed to the Home Depot to see what they have for 2" wide aluminum; need to start the backing plate ! Thanks for reading; I will be back tomorrow with a little more info and a picture or two !
