Over on AR15.com, a guy was trying to decide between a Windham or Colt AR-15. Both of them are your standard milspec 20" gov type rifle, flattop upper and all that. The overwhelming majority voted Colt. I obviously voted Windham. Well, majority rules so he bought the Colt. Received it today and from what he's saying, there's a ten inch long gouge going down the inside of the barrel along with the rifling. To pour salt into the wound, in my lengthy post on why I believe Windham is better (case in point), I pointed out that several people within the last year were complaining about quality issues, one individual going so far as to try and give these people a place to complain about their rifles because apparently it was cluttering up the board. Take that how you will.... In any case, I sent him my condolences and gave him the best of luck in getting the situation resolved, either by having it repaired on their dime or sending it back and buying a Windham. All that being said, how do you guys feel about what Colt is putting out today? Any good or bad experiences you'd like to share?
