Sorry for your losses young man.. the good news is your truck is replaceable, and to what degree minor/major accident be had, you sir are not replaceable and I think to speak for many if not all that there are friends and loved ones thankful that you were kept safe.

I know you have heard it already but it is only a truck and the memory of your Dad is in your heart and soul, nothing can take that away.

OK, enough of that... do you have any pictures ?

As to the NEW RANGER... ( trumpets blaring )  don't rush in to purchase the new Ranger.  It will probably do well on the street, it is a car/truck after all, wait and see what they can do for real, how the Gas Milage ends up to be, will it work off road ?   Ford is cramming this THING down our throats... Stop, Look, and Listen !

Just to interject a comment here. The Aussies are known to "poke fun" of what we consider "performanced" based vehicles due to some restrictions they do not have over ours being held back and de-tuned.

That being said, those unwilling or incapable of shedding $100k + on the Land Cruiser of your choice - The "New" but older 2011-2018 T6 Ranger the world received and the US did not is in fact a rather and highly capable platform despite the subtle differences in aesthetic arguments between whats marketing strong here in the US vs functional and important to the rest of the world who uses a truck for and as truck and not a topless station wagon.. Some may disagree with that last statement but we all can admit, we see it everyday. Pull into any major shopping center or super market in any town USA.. you'll see what I mean.

The Toyota Hilux and the T6 based World Ranger from Ford are the two largest sought after rivals on at least 3 if not 4 continents. Especially down under and to the right, our Kiwi friends.

I myself mostly agree in not applying haste to a new platform but i think the bugs we will see will only be due to changes for N.A. DOT laws and regulations. Should be a short run of issues, we all know there will be some. But give the truck a chance, drive it, even if you aren't in the market.. I think you might be surprised if somewhat not impressed.

Its a creative and well to do platform that's already proved itself on the world stage, its only task to complete is becoming accepted here in North America for what it is, not what it isnt yet.
