Pretty much true but the demo is, IMO, the acid test. As an example, tables for me suggest a length of 165-170cm but the manufacturer of those Ripsticks advises a length of 174cm, and they worked great, in fact, my using them enabled me to ski better and do so with less effort. Curiously, I'm skiing on some Rossignol S86's that are 178cm long, and not having any problems other than they hate ice and will take me for a "ride" if conditions turn to that. Below is a pic I took of a pair of 178cm long skis (and quite stiff) I demoed that recommendations suggested were supposed to be a good choice. Wrong, these were so difficult to control (downright dangerous) that in the interest of not getting injured they were turned in before I had planned on doing so. Miserable product.![]()
