^^^ If she talks you into Xcountry skiing and if you're uncertain about committing to it long term, ski swap might be a good place to shop for gear. Bonus points if a percentage of the sales go to a good cause (here, 20% goes to the ski patrol at the mtn closest to me which, happens to be one of the few remaining all volunteer NSP's out there so its win-win for all). And if she does talk you into it, you can always try telemarking (talk her into that :) ), something that's always crossed my mind as it would open up a whole lot of winter terrain for fun.
