  • Shares SOME F150 DNA as far as parts go

Con's
  • NO Diesel Option (At least at launch but too close both in comparison and timing of the F150 release of a 3.0L diesel option)
  • Aluminum Tailgate
  • NO Raptor trim slated for North American soil
  • Trail Control Availability on Raptor Only (? Possible FX4)
  • NO Standard Cab Option
  • NO Mention of a 6ft box [However, wheelbase is set at two distinct lengths and a crew cab will likely not see a short box; much like Toyota and Nissan did and the World Ranger offers a 6ft bed - Keep fingers crossed]
Overall, If some of the options were to change, I could seriously consider one if it was to ideally be close to the T6 Ranger and its offroad pkg's and capabilities. I loved the old style Escort GT from 86-90, I thought they were cool, boxy, hyper fun cars. When the Mazda version came out in 91' I didnt like it. By 95 I bought one - A 95' Black 2 Door Hatchback which after done modifying turned basic bolt on Mustangs and Camaro's into chew-toys.. it was funny and sadly way before Youtube for proof of street cars with V8 embarrassments having their asses handed to them by a Ford Escort which oddly at the time seemed worse than being tromped on by an import - I mean.., it was an Escort for God's sake! [Not even a Cosworth MKIV either].


My only issues & concerns would be in some of the electronics now, the fact there may not be a manual trans at all. and the pricing I feel would be fair to an average market demographic like the Ranger used to be.

I am a bit discouraged that they lack in other foresight of other features but felt to offer 8 Different wheels in 3 different sizes because they felt that was important - especially considering the after markets over saturation of "wheel options" now.

Debut and full disclosure, we'll see. In general I think it would make a good shop/demo vehicle but to agree with "T-sq".. Its gotta have that 6ft box for sure.
