Thanks Maxx, I understand what a catalytic converter is and what it does...just not the pre-cats. I have never messed with them though. I thought they had platinum and whatnot in them and were a little more difficult to break/modify then simply hammering out the inside.

I'm glad it's that's easy though, I may look into this. I may also find a junkyard y-pipe that I can modify just to keep from effing up my stock one.

No issues passing a smog inspection though? I have no idea where I'll be living next, maybe I'll be in a smog state that requires inspections. Which is why I've never taken the cats off my Mustang.
