Emails...I noticed in this thread that on my last post, when I edited it.....there was that damn box RE email notifications automatically checked, I didn't do it, I caught it and got rid of it. Why this?

Edit: and for kicks I'm editing this post and here we go, the "Notify me by e-mail when replies are posted to this topic" is by default, checked. Why?
