Jim, the way I understand it is that the regular cab and extended cab have different floor pan configurations. Explorer seats fit extended cab floors with the only modification being having to drill out one mounting hole on each seat. Some seats have removable tracks, so you could swap the tracks from the Ranger seats to the Expo seats. Of course, if you want to retain the power portion of the Expo seats, then that isn't an option. The sliding rail on the inboard side of the seat has something to do with the seatbelt. I removed that slider as it would have scuffed the floor board. I relocated the seat belt "female" buckle to a conveniently pre-existing hole, only needing to tap the hole to the size of the mounting bolt. My seats are from a 2001 Mountaineer (dual six-way power leather with lumbar)
