The only reason I know about the 80's one is my dad had at 80 XLT with every option and it included the retractable under-hood light. When I bought a new F-150 in 88 through military sales I got to order exactly what I wanted. The retractable under-hood light was no longer available. On my 99 Lariat the retractable under-hood light was back.
