BTW, just remembered that GM had a retractable under-hood light that was pretty nifty, if you can find one that isn't broken. You could pull the light out of the fixture and the cord would feed out so you could use it like a trouble light.
Ford also had one that would reach around the truck in either direction and had a magnetic mount. It was on the early 80's XLT F150's as an option and again on the 98-03 F150 Lariats.
