I don't see this as being passed. For one, there is already a permit for this. It's called the LEOSA. (law enforcement officer security act?) It enables law enforcement to do so and specifically them for whatever reason. I have a Georgia carry permit and it's good in 31 states. States like Maryland who don't offer a permit I can still carry in. There are weird states out there though, like New York. Even if you have a New York State permit, you can not carry in New York City without another permit. Why each state has it's own laws that differ from eachother is retarded. But people vote their officials into office for these things and obviously people see things differently, some people just hate guns. Furthermore, Georgia has reciprocity with Texas but I'm pretty sure Texas does not have reciprocity with Georgia. Why not? This new act would be amazing but I don't see it going through. Too many people who are scared of guns. They all think if we make it harder for the honest then it'll be harder for the criminal as well...wrong! All of us will order a gun and wait and do what the government wants us to, to own a gun legally but a criminal doesn't care. If they want to use it maliciously then they will obtain it maliciously by stealing it or buying on the black market or what have you. The bad guys are making it harder for us good guys to defend ourselves legally. How much will this new permit cost? What will be the stipulations behind it...80 hours of training, FBI watch list, you can only buy 2 guns a year?
