We pay the equivalent of $2.62 per US gallon in fuel duty PLUS another $1.25 of sales tax on the price including the duty! (So we pay tax on tax)
Our petrol prices are the equivalent of $7.50 per US gallon (£1.51 to £1.56 per litre) so over half of what we pay is tax .....
