Hi! Been a while. 

Really cool looking truck, I think I saw it on one of the FB groups :frd .

You will have to extend your plug, it simply will not reach to where the 5.0 plug is. It is the same plug though, a couple wires are reversed if I remember correctly it has to do with the AC.

OF course make sure you have the electrical diagrams for both vehicles.

A lot of people just splice wires in to extend it. I have a spare plug off a 99 4.0 4wd v6 if you can't find one locally, I'd let go of it for the shipping charges to your door. Getting a plug with longer wires means one splice only instead of 2 per wire and makes it look less "Frankensteinish".
