THAT can be a matter of the terminal-POST itself, the NOT so lead, but lead posts do wear down over time, especially if you're adamant about pulling off the battery cable EVERY TIME you do anything to your vehicle.. Been there too.
I will agree to that to an extent. I just replaced my battery a year ago this fall. If I don't get the negative terminal ALL the way down, it absolutely won't tighten. As for pulling the cables every time I work on the truck... I don't; UNLESS it is an electrical repair or mod. If I'm changing the oil or flushing the cooling system, I don't disconnect the battery.
