Been there too. I will agree to that to an extent. I just replaced my battery a year ago this fall. If I don't get the negative terminal ALL the way down, it absolutely won't tighten. As for pulling the cables every time I work on the truck... I don't; UNLESS it is an electrical repair or mod. If I'm changing the oil or flushing the cooling system, I don't disconnect the battery.
