Additionally, cracking in engine heads between the valve seats is most commonly caused by excessive heat or thermal stress, usually due to overheating of the engine, which causes the metal to expand and contract rapidly, leading to cracks forming in the weaker areas between the valve seats.

I know you dont have that engine modded much if at all but loss or low coolant can cause issues as we all know. Thats why I always oversize the cooling and electrical capacities of nearly every vehicle I own. I cant see you hot dogging it from stop light to stoplight causing any rapid transitions from hot to cold operating temps..

Have you had any cooling system components fail like a water pump or clogged radiator can contribute to overheating recently? Could be a cooling system issue like coolant contamination, which can hinder cooling efficiency too. 

Or if you didnt have bad Irish luck, ya might not have any at all (???)
