Actually, the forum software is in pretty good shape and most things do work - sadly the people seem to have given up on posting! We still get lots of visitors and the occasional new member but like many fora, the regular posters dwindle to a handful. I think it is part of the life cycle of fora - they start, grow in membership and posts with questions and answers, then visitors don't need to ask a question because the answer is already dealt with. Finally the operators of the forum get bored/disheartened and the forum closes. I still run my MG forum - it hasn't had a post in the last 10 years but there are still visitors that trawl through the subject matter (the logs leave a trail). It costs me nothing as it runs on my own server and the domain name is used for other things like email.
