So, I spent some time this morning draining my cooling system. I had to replace the petcock because it snapped off when I was working on the water-in-oil issue. I have been running pretty much straight water for a few weeks and decided that the repair was going to hold. Put two gallons of extended life coolant in and burped the system, so got that out of the way. I think it is time to get back to my 06+ mirror project. All I lack on that is installing them and getting the heated glass and puddle lamps wired up. I'm thinking next weekend, if I don't get roped into something else. Unrelated: Last night I scuffed, prepped and sprayed base coat and clear on my son's new rear bumper cover for his 2011 Chevy Avalanche. It turned out really good. I was surprised, considering I hadn't sprayed automotive paint in 40 years (and that was the old single stage stuff). That 2K (two stage) stuff is really different from spraying acrylic lacquer! I think I like it though...
