I would have found the source of the leak before doing or buying anything. If there is a crack in the block letting water through from the passageways into the sump then you'll be looking for a new block if not a new engine. Are the 3.0 cylinders lined? If so are they wet or dry liners? If they are wet liners, they may have been replaced and not sealed properly - might explain their good condition. Just my musings from the other side of the pond.
