Although my shackle brackets were fine, I replaced them anyway. My son had bought the kit for his gold 1999 before it got totaled. Where mine had a problem was the shackle part wouldn't move, causing an extremely rough ride. It's smooth as silk now that it has all new suspension. I inspected the frame before I embarked on that project to make sure I actually had something solid to work with.
