Well, it's been a while now since I visited. An update. My engine all pulled, torn down and machined. I couldn't believe it when I saw the block after cooking. After 518K miles there was absolutely no top ridge on the cylinders. With a light on the walls, the original factory crosshatch was still visible (but barely). Cleaned the first oversize @ .020" and both the roller cams heads were flawless. Something to be said for Mobil 1 oil. I just changed out to new rollers and lifters on premium rebuilt heads. The man I tasked with the removal, machine, build and install has a VERY busy shop under one roof and I told him I was in absolutely in no hurry. Truck went down in November and here it is now mid-March. Maybe that was a mistake but I'm still not impatient. I check in on it every Friday after work and today he told me it's his next build. This will be virtually brand new fan to flexplate when done. All new manifolds, int/exh T. Cover, flex plate and starter. Plus, about every sensor I could find. This is all stuff I got willy nilly over the years expecting this day. I have some closet space reclaimed now and looking forward to a nice Summer.
