it is when the abs kicks in on those that the problems occur, they just keep going, not stopping like you want.
I would go try it, find some gravel in a safe area get up some speed and lock up the brakes on the gravel patch....see what you think when the abs kicks in
If you don't like the way it feels you can disable it
My wifes 07 FJ cruiser was similar,. the ABS kicks in ad you keep on going........like right through the intersection. They had two recalls to "reprogram the abs computer" and it still sucked so I cut a couple of wires and disabled the system. Been awesome since! I also blacked out all the brake and traction control lights in here instrument cluster that came on after this....... 250K miles later no ABS, regular brakes, works fine
the S10 and S15 blazers where known for the crappy ABS
go try it out form your own opinion

Don't know why I didn't see this earlier, but ABS is broken on it, and the lights light up letting me know, My wife had a panic stop on the freeway, and the truck stopped hard, and left grooves cut into the tires from the cement. All good, It's a decent vehicle, it's needed some repairs, but is currently pouring oil out of it, not sure where from (haven't had time to look), but we're looking to move and might sell it to raise some cash for that.
