I never did find a suitable engine core so now I'm doing my own.
I was planning to do it next month any way, but timetable advanced a little on me today. My 2002 timing chains finally bit it this morning.
My truck has 518,000. original miles. I bought the master engine kit along with a set of rebuilt heads last year and I have all the parts set aside
for this day. Now it's time to put it all to use.
I could swear I saw a post on here or another forum one time where a guy posted he's got 530K original on his Ranger. That post made me delay
mine for a year to see if I could do that. I would say the mission was 95% accomplished. Have a great T-Day people.
That's crazy, my 98 only has 113k miles on it, and at the rate I put miles on, it would take me 40+ years to meet you.
Good luck on the rebuild. Did you check junk yards just to see? I'm in AZ, and The yard around me have plenty of engines available. But I guess it doesn't matter if your block is still good, but has to be pulled anyways.
