Well, I thought about it and then had a conference with my electronics guru (Cameron). We talked a bit about it and he thought on it for a while. Then he disappeared into the garage. Came back in about an hour later stating that it COULD be done, but not with just some simple relays. He mentioned something about an arduino board or LM317 or if you could hack the GEM, you could maybe grab a signal and timer there, but we know of no way to to that (at that point my eyes surely glazed over).
So, the short of it is: this would take quite a bit of electronic wizardry to accomplish.
Way over thought as a "from scratch" idea for the dome-light feature and hacking the GEM, go outside of it, so much easier to add on at times than expand existing circuitry sometimes... Either below could work with a Key/Off trigger either +/- and timed between 1sec-100secs if you so wished.
