I have been researching an auxiliary fuel tank for a gas powered F-350 for increased range. I had a Aux tank in a 70's model pickup that was in the bed and I had a valve that switched from the main tank over to the Aux with no issues. With the fuel pumps and return lines there is more to it today. All the systems I have seen for an Aux tank is for diesel only. There are some states that have laws against gasoline aux tanks and I haven't been able to find a transfer kit or tank switch kit for gasoline. There are plenty for diesel as it is not affected by the state laws.

The way to get around the Aux tank laws is with a transfer tank but you have to have a pump and nozzle to fill the main tank. Another option is to remove the factory tank and replace it with a larger tank.  Both of these workarounds are not appealing because of the transfer process or the cost of a replacement tank.

Good luck with the endeavor. Is there a chance that a 50 state DOT approved gasoline transfer kit or tank switch kit could also be offered?
