I hate when that happens. I helped my neighbor with his V6 3.5L  Chevy last summer. It started off with the starter not working. The starter was soaked with engine oil as he had oil and coolant leaks all over the 110k mile engine. A new starter fixed the no start problem. We ended up replacing the air intake and rocker cover gaskets. When we put it back together one of the rocker cover gaskets folded over on the bottom side. It puked new oil all over the newly cleaned engine. It was obvious what had happened and another $28 for a rocker cover gasket fixed our screw-up.
