It's funny, since the Backing Plate (BP) holds the E-Brake, that it wouldn't be thickerer !

BP on the front are sometimes left off to reduce debris build up, a stone caught in between the BP and the Rotor can not only create NOISE but cause damage to the rotor.

I was going to do an Explorer Brake upgrade to my 31 spline Ranger Axle, until I saw the E-Brake setup, decided OEM was good enough for the little truck !
Ford should have used a standard Caliper with E-Brkae built in !

2003 EDGE, Std Cab, Steppie, E4 Red, 5sp, 4x
5" SuperLift, 33" x 12.50 x 15"
Hurst Shifter
Mod'd Backrack to fit Steppie
Front and Rear Bumpers by Custom 4x4 Fabrication, OK; now Mike Welding and Fabrication.
Working on more Mods, just need more time, longer days would work !
