Scrambler, do you have an engine hoist, or can you rent one for a day/weekend?. When ever I have removed the bed from my Ranger I use heavy duty rope & run it through the tie down hooks in an "X" pattern & then tie both ends. Where the rope crosses I put the hook from the engine hoist lift chain & lift away. Once the bed is high enough to clear the tires I have my wife drive the truck out from under the bed & I set the bed on a couple saw horses or you could use 4 jack stands.
