I have the 154 HP 3.0L and it has the same air box as the 4.0L. The restriction point is the intake side of air box. For my truck removal of the intake baffle seamed to help. I had already removed the guts of the pre-catalytic converters which gave it a deeper tone. The two together may have helped but it may have not.
