Welcome, I'm kinda an "anti CAI'er" being that what you gain is always minimal for what you spend as you have found out. Also I can't find the articles but sometimes the air is actually colder with the stock ford units being they get the air from outside the hood. Just take your air filter out and look inside the box it is actually a pretty good design.

They do tend to flow better though, I just don't like the fact they call them "cold air intakes" when it isn't true. They should call them "flow enhancers" which is what they really do.
