I also put my lawn mower on the trickle charger between mowing's. I got 6 years out of the first battery and 5 years out of the last battery. This is the 5th season on the current wally world battery. I had no choice on the last battery as they were the only place that had the correct battery in stock in Sylva NC. I usually buy my batteries from the local Interstate battery dealership. I know the franchise owner as we were in the same Air National Guard unit. He also gives a 15% military discount. I also keep my ElectraGlide on a trickle charger. It is an '06 and I am on my third battery. If I ride daily, like I am doing right now, I don't bother with the charger. I had an older biker tell me about his theory on extended battery life using a trickle charger over 30 years ago.
