Well, I didn't do this all TODAY (or even in ONE day), but I rebuilt my front brakes with new coated rotors and powder coated calipers/brackets. New ceramic pads, soft lines, bearings and seals with just a tad of clean up and quickie paint. The rear received a drum brake delete, replacing everything with SN95 Mustang GT rear disc brakes (also coated rotors and powder coated calipers/brackets). New braided stainless soft lines and new hard lines as well as a new axle-to-frame soft line and ceramic pads. The entire brake system received a thorough flush prior to the new parts to get all the black nasty fluid out and I went so far as to remove the master cylinder reservoir to give it a bath inside. Since I had to open the diff and pull the axles, it got new axle bearings and seals, fresh fluid and a nice heavy aluminum girdle diff cover! That will be another weekend project as I needed to get this back on the road (wifey doesn't like me driving her baby). Anyway... After that, I took it for a test drive to warm the engine up to operating temperature. Drained the crankcase and installed a new FL400S filter. 5qts. of 5w20 high mileage synthetic oil, topped off all other fluids and replaced the fuel filter. When checking the power steering fluid level, I decided it was just too nasty and emptied the system and flushed it with fresh Mercon, drained that out and filled it up again, then bled the air out (steers easier now). Tomorrow is bath day for the truck. Well, that wore me out, so I am now showered, fed and typing this post while sipping some Glenlivet single malt... Ahhh!!!
