I need to do the same thing to a 2001 Ranger Extended Cab with 3rd and 4th half doors 4x4 XLT!
In your research did you know if the frame is universal between a 2x4 and 4x4 frame on the rear half?
Also where exactly did you cut or separate the frame and how did you join it back together where it was cut or separated.
I am looking at a 1998 Extended Cab 2x4 full truck on GovDeals but have not yet found info about whether the frame rear halves will match upor if I can use the full frame and transfer my cab, bed and drivetrain including front 4x4 components to that ehole 2x4 frame if the my frontend 2001 components can be bolted up to the 2x4 frame.
I got the truck site unseen from a friend and aftrr getting it I found out it was from up north and the frame is completely rusted through in places particularly back by the rear leaf dpring brackets. On the passenger side the back end of the frame actually has broken off behind the leaf spring shackle bracket and it looks like the frame will break further forward by the rear bracket as well so I could also use the wole frame from the other truck if it is compatible!
I sure would appreciate your input and insight is you have any advice for me on the correct compatible frames and years with a 2001 Ext Cab 4x4 Ranger!
