I'm with ya on guessing if the harness and from what you are saying I would guess in favor of the connections being there. I don't like Ford's wiring I think the Fogs are negative switched and the switch is special in the way it switches. I would just run a new wire, Positive switched with an indicator light actuated from the negative side of the light. I know, too much work if the harness is there but I had to say it ! Luck on that.
